Hannah is a Consultant in the Resilience team who specialises in socially and ecologically sustainable development. Hannah has specialised skills in a range of economic and analytical methods and is passionate about ensuring both impact and action as outcomes of her work. She has been extensively involved in a range of Economic Development projects and has assessed economic impacts in the context of sustainable livelihoods, climate change resilience and urban development. Having assisted directly in the design of economic assessment methodologies, Hannah can confidently identify unique approaches to the quantification and/or valuation of economic costs and benefits such that the evidence and recommendations are relevant and meaningful to the client and intended audience. Prior to Pegasys, Hannah worked for the Gauteng City Region Observatory and the City of Cape Town.

Sabelo Dube is a Consultant with a focus on spatial and data analytics, as well as climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies. Sabelo’s work has ranged from modelling support to South African stakeholders, to financial support to Ethiopia’s NDCs, to GIS and DRR support to the EU’s programme in the Okavango River Basin. Before joining Pegasys, Sabelo worked at MHP Geospace and WSP Environmental as a GIS technician across several departments in the environmental and remediation sectors.

Derek is an Associate Director in the Water Practice. Beginning his career in hydrological modelling for supporting catchment management decisions, Derek shifted focus in 1999 to institutional matters. For a decade, Derek was a leading actor in the establishment of Catchment Management Agencies and Water User Associations at the South African Department of Water Affairs. During his tenure in the Department, Derek was involved in a significant range of policy development projects across the remit of integrated water resource management. His leadership on institutional roles and responsibilities, and associated development processes, ensured his engagement in an extensive number of policy and strategy development processes. He has been involved in many of the water resource management institutional development processes in South Africa and the SADC region over the last 20 years and as such has developed a wealth of experience with regards to IWRM and related sector strategies. Derek is particularly charged up by projects that have meaningful impact upon rural and marginalised communities and the productive use of water for livelihoods in Africa.

Peter is an Associate Director at Pegasys, with over 20 years’ experience in development and the public sector. As a Chartered Accountant (CA), Peter specialises in determining the institutional, governance, organisational and financial requirements for the implementation of government initiatives and the formation of government entities – particularly in the sphere of financing public infrastructure. In this regard, he has participated in and led the production of several business plans and business cases for entities such as institutional funds, government components, trading entities and public entities. Dan is a Managing Principal at Pegasys. He has over 15 years’ experience working to mobilise finance for a range of innovative infrastructure, clean energy and urban development projects. His more recent experience spans Southern Africa (having lived and worked in South Africa for four years) as well as having led multiple engagements in East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania) and West Africa (Nigeria). He has a strong track record of advising government, development finance institutions and bi-lateral donors on the strategic conceptualisation, governance and operating structures for infrastructure facilities and programs. Before joining Pegasys, Dan was an advisor on green infrastructure financing at the Green Growth Institute, World Economic Forum and a Manager in Accenture’s Climate and Clean Energy Team. She is a hydrologist, with a strong focus on understanding the intricate dynamics within socio-ecological systems, water resource management, and climate change resilience and adaptation. Londiwe is dedicated to finding sustainable solutions for water related challenges. Before joining Pegasys, Londiwe worked closely with Dutch Water organisations and South African municipalities to strengthen local capacity building and water and sanitation research. Petrina is a Principal Environmental Economist at Pegasys. She has over 20 years’ experience working to integrate the value of nature into policy- and decision-making through impact assessment, project appraisal (cost-benefit analysis), markets and payments for ecosystem services (PES), and natural capital accounting. She is a co-author of the UK Government’s Best Practice Guidance on PES, led the production of a toolkit of policy instruments for managing environmental externalities in urban areas in Africa for the World Bank, and was part of the core team behind the development of the British Standard on Natural Capital Accounting for Organisations. She is a member of the British Standards Institute committee on Assessing and Valuing Natural Capital, a practitioner member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Prior to joining Pegasys, she worked for a large, multi-disciplinary consulting company where she led the Natural Capital, Environmental Net Gain and Environmental Economics practice and managed a diverse portfolio of projects for private and public sector clients across a range of sectors. Previously, Petrina worked as a Development Economist within the Basin Development Planning team at the Mekong River Commission in Cambodia and Lao PDR.

Anne-Louise specialises in natural resources management and nature-based solutions. She has experience in impact management, institutional analysis, facility design, M&E, and climate finance across water and climate resilience sectors. Anne-Louise has specific experience in providing technical assistance to projects implementing nature-based solutions (NBS) for water security and implementing governance mechanisms to reducing global illegal logging of tropical timber. Anne-Louise holds a Master’s of Public Administration in Development Practice from Columbia University specialising in Environmental Policy and Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Exeter. She is passionate about sustainable development and finding holistic solutions using nature to tackle complex environmental challenges.

Dominique puts her legal expertise to work by providing multifaceted support to the client team including contract drafting, implementation and management, legislative interpretation support, and corporate structuring advice and governance support to the minibus taxi industry partners working with the Western Cape Government to deliver projects. She has a strong track record of advising government, building relationships with key stakeholders, and providing strategic advice. Before joining Pegasys, Dominique worked as a practicing attorney at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr where she completed her articles and worked as a senior associate in the corporate and commercial department specialising in mergers, acquisitions and debt funded transactions.
